The history of Chinoh

In 1972 Chinoh started importing decorative products from the Far East. Chinoh became a synonym for typical eastern products, like kimonos, Chinese porcelain and Japanese lacquer items.
In the early eighties Pol Desimpel acquired Chinoh and started building a wholesale business around these products. Throughout the years the focus of Chinoh came to rest on baskets.
In 1996, Pol Desimpel was joined by his daughter Josephine. Together they expanded their business and made Chinoh the trendsetter in decoration, packaging and baskets it is today.
In 2010 Josephine took over her father’s business. The opening of an atmospheric showroom, set in an old train station in Waregem, meant the addition of an important asset for Chinoh.

In the future Chinoh is looking to expand its markets. France is one of our main targets in this expansion, alongside a broadening of our presence on the Belgian market. In our continued quest for innovation we aim to offer an answer to client needs and produce tailor-made quality products. A genuine client focus and spotless service remain the guiding principles of our future business.
